Creating a successful business

During a recent radio interview with BBC Gloucester, we were asked what we felt was important in creating a successful business. We felt that the following points were the guiding principles for our own success.

1. Good design and the successful execution of the finished product
2. Total customer satisfaction. Without this we have no business
3. Good marketing and PR. Keep in the public eye
4. Good lines of finance, essential for investment for future development
5. Good supplier relationship - pay accounts on time as suppliers are our lifeline
6. Good staff [Our team], appreciate them as without them we have no business
7. Good working conditions, keep production lines efficient
8. Good machinery and tools, safety precautions, as less down time if these are looked after
9. Good relations with people that matter i.e. The Bank, Accountant, Suppliers, Training establishments e.g. Gloscat, PR contacts and above all the staff
10. Proper and adequate planning for the future, i.e. forward planning, monthly management of accounts and analysis.

Above all - know where you are, where you want to go and how you are going to get there

Fancy an Island?

Have you always wanted an island but your kitchen was never big enough? Or you were not sure about placing an unmoveable object in the middle of your kitchen?

Unless you have a substantial kitchen, a static island can seem a bit daunting in a smaller area. If you change your mind once it is fitted, you are stuck with it! Some have lived to regret it, fighting for space and feeling cramped in.

Sebastian Sellers believes they have come up with the perfect solution, offering a fully mobile Island that locks into place when you need it to be secure, but offering you flexibility and diversity on demand.

These versatile Islands, can be made to order, tailored to personal requirements and made to match existing kitchen or units. They can be hand-painted or in a wood and finish of your choice.

Free-standing as opposed to Fitted Furniture

The argument continues……..

There are many considerations to the above dispute, however a point many people fail to realise and may wish to ponder, is that built-in cabinets and furniture can actually make selling a home more difficult! “How can that possibly be we hear you ask?” Research has shown that prospective purchasers are very likely to have other purposes in mind for the space. When that’s the case, those buyers will take the cost of cabinet removal and wall restoration into consideration before making offers on your house.

What you consider tasteful and to add value to your property, may not to others, therefore your investment will have fallen doubly flat.

On the other hand, if your cabinets or furniture is freestanding, you can take it with you and adapt them to your new home.

In a nutshell free-standing furniture allows you the freedom to move and change your furniture around freely when and how you want.

Mike Smith (Managing Director) Sebastian Sellers says: “We have seen an increase in up take with our freestanding larders and wardrobes, many customers are realising the benefit of flexible versatile furniture that can be moved from home to home, but still tailor made to the clients’ individual specifications”

Keep it safe -Keep it hidden!

KEEP IT SAFE – KEEP IT HIDDEN!

We have all heard the awful stories of bogus callers - or tradesman - who prey on innocent clients, particularly the elderly. It is devastating when your hard earned savings walks off in someone elses pockets.

It doesnt have to be this way.

Over the last few months we noticed an increase in requests to add secret doors to sliding bookshelves. Thus we created a range of “Secret furniture.” We can hide and disguise all sorts of spaces, rooms and special items, from safes to plasma screens.

Away from prying eyes and unwanted guests, we can make our “Secret furniture” blend in with its surroundings, match existing furniture and internal doors.

Peace of mind is important for everyone. We remain open to our clients requests as trends dictate the next idea for both beauty and security.
